I have read that the longer one has the virus, the less potent it becomes. Is this true? I've had hsv2 for about 35 years. I'm wondering what the chances are I could pass to someone if I am taking daily valtrex for suppression and following a diet that is recommended for anyone with hsv2.
I decided to take the acyclovir in order to reduce the chances of outbreaks (only had the initial one) and also to reduce the shedding. I wish there were more definitive answers on this. The medical community sees it as low risk in terms of other STI’s but the public perception is still not great.

I have read the same as well, I read that over time if consistently suppressed the antibodies die off.
