Cancer causing HPV type P16: Am I still contagious? Should I tell a partner?

  • The pathology lab said the cancer at the back of my tongue was type P16 HPV (one of the cancer-causing ones that they immunize against). I finished treatment almost 4 years ago and am "otherwise healthy." 1. Am I still contagious for P16 HPV? 2. Ethically speaking, must I tell partners that my cancer was type P16 HPV and that I may still be contagious?
